Cletus Kwalekeme, a prominent political activist and leader of a registered support group for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has raised grave allegations of financial diversion, political persecution, and an attempt on his life involving high-ranking figures within the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP).

In a detailed public statement addressing a growing feud over the administration of amnesty funds, Cletus recounted his recent ordeal, revealing that he was abducted and forced to consume an unidentified poisonous substance in an assassination attempt stemming from his exposed whistleblowing activities.

At the center of the dispute are serious allegations leveled against Dennis Otuaro, the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme. Cletus claims Otuaro has been covertly diverting funds meant for ex-militant generals, allegedly converting the allocations into foreign currency for personal enrichment rather than distributing them transparently.

"Did I say 'Dennis Otuaro, rest in peace'? No. What I said was, 'Dennis Otuaro should resign in peace', because of the allegations that he is diverting money belonging to militant generals."

Cletus accused Otuaro of political high-handedness and favoritism, questioning why public funds meant for broader regional stabilization were reportedly being restricted or shared disproportionately within specific quarters, such as the Gbaramatu Kingdom. 

Calling on traditional institutions to step in, Cletus urged the Gbaramatu monarch to summon and caution Otuaro, calling for an immediate resolution with the affected amnesty beneficiaries.

The political dispute rapidly escalated into a life-threatening crisis. Following an initial arrest and subsequent release on bail after providing statements to the police at Zone 5 Headquarters, Keme was reportedly targeted by assailants.

According to Keme, he was abducted with the clear intention of being killed. During the ordeal, he was forced to drink a toxic liquid. His survival, he noted, was made possible by swift action from law enforcement and emergency medical personnel.

"If not for the intervention of the Ughelli Police Division, where I gave what amounted to my dying declaration, I might not be alive today," Cletus stated. "The police immediately rushed me to the Central Hospital, where I received treatment to neutralize the substance I was given to drink."

Cletus commended the officers of the Ughelli Police Division as well as the medical team at Central Hospital for their prompt, lifesaving intervention. However, the attack has left him with severe physical injuries. 

Cletus revealed that he now requires a neck collar and knee support to maintain mobility, backed by comprehensive medical reports and X-rays documenting the trauma.

Despite ongoing threats circulating on social media, Cletus remains resolute. He dismissed attempts by rival factions to intimidate him, defending fellow political leaders like former Minister of Elder Statesman Godday Orubebe against attacks from critics such as Michael Johnny, whom he accused of pushing misplaced blame and misunderstanding local governance issues.

Reaffirming his loyalty to Nigeria and the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Cletus maintained that his support for the government would not prevent him from exposing corruption within its ranks.

"If there is anyone within President Tinubu's government who has criminal intentions to divert or misappropriate people's money, they should not expect everyone to remain silent," Cletus asserted. "With the God I serve, the person making these threats is too small to intimidate me."

With the formal investigation officially underway at the Zone 5 Police Command, Cletus announced plans to hold a full press conference to present further evidence to the global public, reiterating that "power is transient" and calling for full accountability regarding the management of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.
